The Batch Winery is a 5 minute walk
Just walk along the driveway, past the vineyard and into the back garden of the Batch winery.
The Ecozip is close by
World famous in New Zealand, the Ecozip merges the thrills of zip lining with a lovely nature walk. The Lodge has group discount rates with Ecozip.
Near to the best beaches
Onetangi beach is a long soft sandy beach with three good restaurants
Regional park
The Waiheke Lodge is located adjacent to the regional park which, offers sheltered swimming on a long, sweeping beach with a panoramic bush-clad backdrop. A great place for a picnics with quiet benches almost unknown to tourists. Dogs are not permitted on this beach.
Scenic Flying Tours
Fly to the Lodge or take a memorable scenic tour of Waiheke Island whilst you are here. Just a three minute walk from the Lodge - special discounted prices for Lodge guests. The private airfield is by appointment only and not used after dusk.
Casita Miro - quirky and delicious
Specialising in Tapas, Casita Miro is a different restaurant with lovely indoor and outdoor dining just a short drive from the Lodge. The owner has a passion for mosaic and the outside areas are covered with his work making it an interesting place to be whilst you enjoy their lovely food,
Walking and Biking Track
The Waiheke Lodge close to the main walking track which runs around Waiheke (red line). You can walk or mountain bike ride all around Waiheke from the Lodge. Many tracks are shared with mountain bikes. The Waiheke Mountain Bike Club website has lots of information to help you plan your trip.
E-bikes
These e-bikes are perfect to get around Waiheke island which has many hills. Make an early start, strap your gear onto the bike and get on your way. See u back around the sunset hour. For groups, we can arrange for e-bikes to be delivered directly to the Waiheke Lodge.
Wine Tours
Waiheke Wine Tours provide custom bespoke tours to suit any budget, event or occasion. Ideal for groups staying at the Waiheke Lodge. They have 4 or 5 hour tours and can suggest somewhere for lunch or dinner.
Golf course
The Lodge overlooks the Waiheke Golf Club which is a 4 minute drive away. The course is Par 72 5621 meters long and available without membership every day except Saturdays.
The Waiheke Explorer Bus
Take a tour of Waiheke on the Waiheke Explorer Bus which stops at the Batch Winery next door to the Lodge. You can hop on or off any any point so why not combine arriving or leaving with a tour of the Island ? Tours start at 9.50am from Matiatia and run every 30 minutes until the last drop off at Matiatia at 6.40pm.
Private airfield
Fly straight from Auckland, Ardmore, North Shore or any NZ airport directly to the private airfield adjacent to Waiheke Lodge, either in your own fixed wing aircraft or helicopter or by charter. The private grass airstrip is by appointment only, very quiet and does not operate after sunset.
